Why controlled feeding changes the outcome.
Fast feeding leaves calves anxious, cross-suckling, and short on the rumen development they need for weaning. Slow, controlled flow keeps the group settled, gets saliva into the abomasum, and gives every calf the same shot at hitting weight and health targets.
